Community activist in Codrington, Barbuda, Bonnietha John, remains relentless in her efforts to see the sister isle free of litter and over-grown bushes and shrubs.

Over the past week, John has been concentrating her efforts on the Holy Trinity Primary School in Codrington.

Reports from Barbuda state that as the new school term approaches, John has undertaken critical preparations at the primary school in Barbuda to ensure students return to a clean and healthy learning environment next week. Her efforts included the thorough cleaning of the back of the school meal area as well as the surroundings of the bathroom facilities, thereby addressing important health and sanitation concerns.

Beyond these measures, John has also prepared the school garden for agricultural planting, reinforcing the value of sustainability and hands-on education for students.

Observers say her dedication not only reflects her commitment to the well-being of the children but also highlights the importance of community-driven initiatives in supporting the development of Barbuda’s educational institutions.
