Prime Minister Browne, who has repeatedly called for greater national pride among residents of Antigua and Barbuda, wants to see the enforcement of anti-litter regulations.
Speaking on the Browne and Browne show on Saturday, the prime minister highlighted the need for ‘stricter enforcement of environmental rules’ to improve Antigua and Barbuda’s aesthetics.
He reiterated a long-standing point: rules without enforcement are useless.
“Citizens who litter must face citations, fines, and penalties if real change is to take place,” he stated.
In support of a beautification campaign, PM Browne announced that the government has allocated 10 acres of land at Painters to establish a new nursery.
According to the nation’s leader, this nursery will focus on public beautification projects, including the Prime Minister’s ambitious goal to plant ‘at least one million trees per year starting next year’.
This investment, PM Browne explained, will create a greener, more attractive environment, instill national pride, and complement broader infrastructure upgrades.
