Real Blizzard made a successful start to the Fort Road Community Football League (FRCFL) on Wednesday.
Zahwanza Celestine struck a hat trick as Real Blizzard launched their campaign with a 3-1 victory against Exclusive Ballaz at the Fort Road playing field.
Celestine opened the scoring with a second-minute conversion and scored his second in the 20th minute to give Real Blizzard a two-nil lead at halftime.
L’Joboir Dorsette scored in the 51st minute to reduce the deficit for Exclusive Ballaz. But Celestine restored his team’s two-goal cushion when he scored the third and final goal for Real Blizzard and completed his hat trick.
West Hamp and Fort Road played to a 2-2 draw in their opening match of the football league on Tuesday.
Delroy Francis converted a penalty kick in the 17th minute to give West Ham the lead. Joumol Semper equalized for Fort Road with a 30th-minute conversion.
West Ham regained the lead via a 40th-minute conversion by Lloyd Shepherd, but Fort Road drew level once again when Shamar Carr scored in the 44th minute to snatch the equalizer and salvage the draw.
Eight teams, divided into four groups, are contesting the Fort Road Community Football League.
Blackburn Palace, Fort Road, West Ham, and Villa Lions are contesting Group A, while Earthquake, Enforcers, Real Blizzard, and Exclusive Ballaz are competing in Group B.
The competition will continue with a double-header at Fort Road on Saturday. Earthquake will launch their campaign against Enforcers at 4 pm, and Fort Road will tackle Blackburn Palace at 5:30 pm.
