The police have arrested and formally charged 25-year-old Emerson Alexander of Villa for the unlawful possession of one (.380) pistol and six (6) rounds of matching ammunition.

In a separate incident, Kieron Philip of Ottos was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of 50 grams of cannabis.

Both men were apprehended during a series of stop-and-search operations conducted by the police on Tuesday, 8 July.

The operations form part of the ongoing efforts by the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda to curb the proliferation of illegal firearms, ammunition, and narcotics on the streets.

The Police Administration continues to urge the public to play an active role in crime prevention by cooperating with the police and providing any information that may assist in ongoing investigations.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477). All calls will be kept strictly confidential.
