Two men were remanded to His Majesty’s Prison when they appeared before a magistrate on Wednesday charged with armed robbery of the All Saints Service Station.
The men- 30-year-old Ernesto Estevan Lawrence of Swetes Village and 18-year-old Maurice Belgrave Jr. of All Saints who were charged with Aggravated Robbery. Lawrence was further charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Discharging a Firearm.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Saturday, 28 June 2025, in which an armed assailant entered the All Saints Service Station and robbed the pump attendants of an undisclosed sum of money. A single gunshot was discharged during the robbery; however, no injuries were reported.
Subsequent investigations by the police led to the arrest of the two suspects, who were later charged accordingly.
They appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday to answer the charges and the case was adjourned until September 24, 2025. Both men were remanded to prison to await the trial.
In a separate incident, both Lawrence and Belgrave were also arrested and charged with robbery at Brownie’s Bakery on the Herberts Main Road. However, in this incident, 16-year old male was also arrested with the other two.
In a press statement, the police say they have arrested and jointly charged the three males in connection with a robbery at Brownie’s Bakery in Herbert’s on Sunday, 29 June 2025.
Lawrence and Belgrave along with the minor were charged with Aggravated Robbery, Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of an Offence, and Unlawful Possession of Twelve (12) Rounds of .32 Ammunition.
Shortly after the incident, the accused were intercepted in a vehicle on Jonas Road and were arrested and taken into custody.
