The Trendsetters clinched the title by prevailing 2-1 on penalty kicks against Cutting Edge FC in the final after both teams battled to a goalless draw at the end of regulation time at the ABFA Technical Center.

On their way to the final of the eight-team women’s competition, the Trendsetters, who received a cash prize of EC$2,500 for winning the championship, prevailed 4-3 against Lady Fort Road in the semi-finals.

Empire Trendsetters also snatched a 4-3 victory on penalty kicks against Lady Masters after both teams fought to a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time in their opening encounter.

Lady Fort Road advanced to the semi-finals after being awarded victory via default against Lady Five P’s Wadadli, who failed to show up for their opening round encounter.

Cutting Edge, who claimed the EC$1,500 runners-up cash prize, booked their spot in the final with a 2-1 victory on penalty kicks against Wadadli United after both teams fought to a 2-2 draw at the end of regulation time in their semi-final encounter.

The ABFA has also scheduled knockout competitions for June 29 and July 6 at the same venue ahead of its national women’s league, which is slated to commence in August.
