Akini Walker of Cassada Gardens pleaded guilty on Wednesday to a charge for the illegal possession of a firearm and matching ammunition.

Walker was arrested on Sunday after the police executed a search warrant on his home at 5:30 am. He was found in possession of a high velocity rifle (an FN rifle) and 18 rounds of ammunition.

The court heard that there is no bullet proof vest in Antigua and Barbuda that can withstand those bullets from the rifle.

The man pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared in the magistrate’s court and sentencing has been adjourned until next Wednesday.
