A 20-year-old Guyanese woman, who had reportedly arrived in Antigua just a few days ago, has died following an incident that is currently under police investigation.
The woman has been identified as Joylene Abraham. According to initial reports, she was a passenger in a Noah van (license plate C 20181), allegedly driven by a man said to be her boyfriend. The incident took place on the backroad between New Winthorpe’s and Coolidge sometime after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
It has been alleged that Abraham exited or jumped from the moving vehicle, leading to fatal consequences. Police are now working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, including what may have led to her actions.
An official police statement on the matter is expected to be released later today
