The Cabinet has agreed to provide the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda with the requisite resources it needs to conduct its mission effectively and efficiently.
The Cabinet Notes revealed that the government has approved the purchase of 4 police dogs for the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda. They will be trained to sniff out explosives, guns, cadavers, and a variety of evidence that may be found at crime scenes.
This comes as the police are reporting that except in the case of murder and missing persons, crime in Antigua and Barbuda is on the decline.
There are three missing young men whose whereabouts continue to baffle the police and voluntary groups who have mounted search parties each of which have returned empty-handed.
The presence of the dogs will greatly enhance the overall capabilities of the force to fight crime.
