The new Royalton Chic hotel, constructed on the site of the former Rex Halcyon
Cove Hotel, is gearing up to welcome its first guests on April 29.
Regional Manager for Royalton, Craig Marshall reported that the construction
work is completed and all that is now being done at the property is the ‘tidying in’
ahead of the arrival of the first guests later this month.
“We are just excited that in a few weeks we will begin welcoming our guests. We
have lots in store for them from seven restaurants and five bars in a very luxurious
setting including our signature Diamond Club where the amenities include butler
service, concierge service, all at an upgraded level. So regardless of where you are
staying, you are going to have an amazing time at Royalton Chic Antigua,” he
emphasized.
Marshall revealed that the current staff complement is approximately 350 residents
but the plan is to increase that number to 500 persons by the time the season starts.
“We will be having our ‘soft’ opening in April and May but by June with the ICC
T20 World Cup Cricket and the number of rooms we have already sold, we will be
up in the higher levels of occupancy,” he noted.
The Regional Manager reported that the company has sent in the region of US$70
million on the project with further opportunities for investments in another year or
so.
According to Marshall the resort will benefit from group business especially
coming out of the US and indications are that the property will enjoy very brisk
business during the summer months.
