An elderly Canadian tourist has died after encountering difficulties while
swimming at the beach on Sunday.
The woman’s identity has not been revealed, but she is said to be 86 years old.
According to reports, the woman and her husband went for a swim at the beach
located just outside the hotel where they were guests.
While there, she allegedly encountered difficulties in the water.
She was subsequently rushed to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre Centre, but was
pronounced dead.
An autopsy will have to be carried out on the body to determine the cause of
death.
The incident took place sometime after 11 on Sunday morning.
The woman and her husband arrived in Antigua on holiday on Friday.
