Scores of young people will gather at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium today
(Wednesday) for a one-day forum where they will discuss issues surrounding
gender equality.
The event is being organized by the National Youth Parliament Association of
Antigua and Barbuda and it will be held under the theme “Closing the Gender Gap
in the 268”.
The project, which is led by probationers of the association, aims to promote
awareness and education on the issue, foster inclusion and equal opportunity, and
address intersectionality through speakers within the relevant fields.
The forum will engage students from twelve (12) public secondary schools
including the All Saints Secondary School, Antigua Girls High School, Antigua
Grammar School, Clare Hall Secondary School, Glanvilles Secondary School,
Irene B. Williams Secondary School, Jennings Secondary School, Ottos
Comprehensive School, Pares Secondary School, Princess Margaret School, Sir.
Novelle Richards Academy and the St. Mary’s Secondary School.
