The country’s senior executive authority, the Cabinet, is meeting today; the first
for the new year following the two-week break to mark the Christmas/end of year
festivities.
No details have been made public regarding what are some of the key items that
will go before the Cabinet for consideration and decision-making, but it is expected
that there will be a packed agenda down for today’s meeting.
However, the public would not have to ponder too long as the post-Cabinet press
briefing where journalists are free to ask questions regarding decisions taken at the
Cabinet meeting is expected to follow on Thursday morning.
These post-Cabinet briefings have become an institution in Antigua and Barbuda
and they have attracted the interested of not only nationals at home, but for those in
the diaspora around the globe.
Many Caribbean territories have also been implementing similar engagements with
their publics as they too adopt the policy of openness and transparency.
