Promoting Antigua and Barbuda through cricket platform

Two government agencies are coming together to maximize on the international
exposure Antigua and Barbuda will receive as a result of hosting two One-Day
International cricket matches at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium in early
December.
The Ministry of Tourism is teaming up with APUA’s telecommunication unit, Inet,
to stage the Inet Tourism Blast Off, scheduled to take place on December 6, 2023,
at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. This event is set to take place when both sides
break after the first 50 overs, during the West Indies vs. England cricket match,
commencing at 1:30 pm.
“As an integral part of Tourism Week 2023, the Inet Tourism Blast Off promises
an unforgettable experience, bringing together the best of Antigua’s culture,
heritage, cuisine, and more.
“Attendees can indulge their senses in the diverse offerings of Antiguan and
Barbudan cuisine while immersing themselves in the Arts & Crafts exhibition,
showcasing the island’s finest creative talents. From traditional crafts to
contemporary artwork, the event will be a celebration of Antigua’s artistic spirit,” a
release from the Ministry of Tourism noted.
Organizers plan to bring the event to an end with a grand finale featuring a stellar
entertainment lineup with performances by King Warrior Sound, the Police Iron
Band, RT performers, and the Original Burning Flames. These renowned acts will
take the stage to provide a fitting crescendo to the festivities, ensuring that Tourism
Blast Off is not only a cultural showcase but also an entertaining spectacle.
The Inet Tourism Blast Off is a highlight of Tourism Week 2023, offering a
unique blend of culture, heritage, and entertainment, against the backdrop of the
thrilling WI vs. England cricket match. The organizers are inviting locals and
