One of the two men who suffered an electric shock while working at Antigua Port
Authority last week has died.
25-year-old Leandro Payano succumbed on Saturday in Santo Domingo, where he
was warded in a burn center.
Payano and Edgar Benjamin Alcantara, 32 years old, were allegedly shocked by a
high-tension power line while moving scaffolding at Deep Water Harbour.
The duo had been cleaning the outside of the administrative building.
Both men were rushed to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre and Leandro Payno was
later airlifted to the Dominican Republic where he died while undergoing
treatment.
Edgar Alcantara is also said to be receiving treatment in the Dominican Republic
for the burns he sustained during the accident.
