Despite the technical difficulties that cast a pall over the 2023 UWI FIC Mr. and
Miss Teenage Pageant show, one contestant was able to defy the circumstances of
the show and put on an overall outstanding performance for the audience.
The representative of the Princess Margaret School in the female segment, Ajanae
Bleau, completed a rarity, in that, she won all of the five judged segments in
Saturday’s competition.
She naturally emerged as the overall winner in the female category. Her dominance
also extended to the pre-judged segments as she was named the most photogenic in
the female category and also adjudged the contestant who displayed the best
leadership qualities.
The top six placed contestants in the pageant were overall winners: (Female)
Ajanae Bleau and (Male) Lutrell John of the Sir Novell Richards Academy. First
Runner up: (Female) Sarah Bahri of St. Anthony’s Secondary School and (Male)
Ruez Titre of the St. Joseph’s Academy. Second runner-up (Female) Melika
Samuel of the Clare Hall Secondary School and (Male) Noah Yeboah of the
Antigua Grammar School.
Bleau was the top female performer in the segments, Performing Talent,
Introductory Speech, Cultural Icon, Uniform Evolution, and Interview. The top
male in the performing talent was Aliyah Richards of Island Academy. In the
Introductory Speech, the top male was Ruez Titre of St. Joseph’s Academy. In the
Cultural Icon segment, the top male was Noah Yeboah, in the Uniform Evolution
the top male was Lutrell John, and for the interview segment, the top male was
Lutrell John.
The top six contestants will receive scholarships to attend the University of the
West Indies Five Islands Campus here in St. John’s.
