The police have confirmed that two persons of interest are in their custody and

being questioned in relation to the shooting over a week ago, that has left the

victim fighting for his life in the hospital.

Police spokesman Inspector Frankie Thomas said they include Dexter Scotland,

who surrendered to the police on Monday morning after a Wanted Bulletin was

posted on Saturday, bearing his photograph. Inspector Thomas said a second

individual is also being held by the police, in connection with the shooting.

On Sunday, June 4, the police alleged that Scotland, a resident of Willikies, was

involved in an incident where another Willikies resident was shot multiple times

and was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center (SLBMC).

Scotland had been on the run since the incident happened until he turned himself

over to the police on Monday.

The victim, not yet identified, has been hospitalised in an unstable condition at the

SLBMC.

The Police Administration wishes to thank the general public for the assistance and

support that is being offered to the police in this and other ongoing investigations.
