Lecturer at one of the country’s tertiary level institutions as well as an
entrepreneur, Imani Sinclair, has been selected to represent Antigua and Barbuda at
the One Young World (OYW) Summit 2023 in Belfast, Ireland, with support
through the OYW Leading Scholarship.
The annual One Young World Summit brings together more than 2,000 of the
brightest young leaders from over 190 countries and across all sectors, to
accelerate social impact – both in-person and digitally. Delegates will network,
learn, and share solutions to some of the world's most pressing issues at the
gathering of October 2-5, 2023.
Sinclair says she is excited about this opportunity to attend such a huge summit
and represent her country on the world stage and hopes to gain valuable insights
and connections that will help her continue making a positive impact in her
community and beyond.
“I am passionate about continuously finding ways of improving myself, whether
it's through seeking opportunities or creating them for myself and others.” Sinclair
was selected to attend this summit based on her youth activism in various non-
profit organizations across the country. She is the current President of the St John's
Rural East (SJRE) Youth Group, where she leads multiple community outreach
programs centered on youth development.
Additionally, she is also a member of the Nolan Hue Foundation’s management
team. NHF is a nonprofit organization that provides professional development
opportunities for young people in the Caribbean.
Sinclair expresses that attending the One Young World Summit 2023 would be an
absolute dream come true for her as a young leader who is committed to driving
change and making a positive impact in society.
She is a lecturer at the Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology
(ABIIT) facilitating courses in Business and Human Resources. She is also an
entrepreneur.
