A Canadian citizen, with roots in Antigua and Barbuda, has excelled in her
academic endeavours by completing dual degrees from a university in the United
States.
Family and friends are offering congratulations to Amiah Henry who on May 19,
2023, achieved dual degrees from Roger Williams University (RWU) in Rhode
Island, USA (Master of Business Administration – Honors and Juris Doctor, a law
degree.) She is now a qualified lawyer.
Amiah is the daughter of Avery & Constance Henry and an alumnus of the
Sunnyside Tutorial School, which she represented on various levels during her
formative years. This gave her the base which she continued to build during her
tertiary years. Adding to her many experiences, was her 2022 internship at the
Antigua & Barbuda Department of Marine Services & Merchant Shipping.
Amiah has received various awards at RWU, such as CALI (UN international
treaty laws and practices), the 2023 Public Interest Award, and NOAA (National
Oceanic & Atmospheric Association). She also held positions of Secretary and
President (2022/23) of the RWU Black Law Student Association, for which her
team won RWU Club of the Year 2022/2023 for the first time.
Amiah was born in Canada but was raised and schooled up to the secondary level
in Antigua and Barbuda.
