The parliamentary representative for St. Paul, E.P Chet Greene delivered a series
of ‘pep’ talks to primary school students ahead of the Grade 6 National Assessment
Examinations (NAE).
Representative Greene visited the Liberta Primary, Cobbs Cross Primary, and the
New Bethel Primary; schools in the constituency, to encourage the students to
continue their diligent work in preparation for the exams next Wednesday and
Thursday.
Greene has a longstanding commitment to the education of the young people in the
constituency. Each year, he organizes a summer camp where art and craft are
taught and at the beginning of the school year, he distributes school supplies to
students in the three primary schools.
The Ministry of Education said the National Assessment Examinations is the
yardstick used to determine what school a child enters for their secondary
education. The top one hundred students choose the schools they wish to attend
while the others are placed in a secondary school closest to where they live.
A total of 1,330 students will write the Grade 6 NAE this year.
