ABN, ANR operators in hot water for defying High Court order

The operators of Antigua Newsroom and Antigua Breaking News have fallen afoul of High Court Justice Colin Wiliams who has summoned them to appear before him.

On 7th October, 2022, the media houses are said to have published an article which contained information privileged information concerning the Mikhail Gomes murder trial.

This information was published by the online news outlets despite an order given by Justice Williams that forbade the media from doing so.

Pointe Xpress can confirm that the offending article was still published on the Antigua Newsroom website up to the time of the publication of this edition of the paper on 25th October, 2022.

Gomes’ trial was set to commence on 4th October, 2022, however it was abruptly adjourned that same day without explanation.

Gomes is accused of killing his former girlfriend Vincia James in 2018.

James’ body has never been found.
