A 21 year-old British woman is being celebrated after becoming the youngest woman to sail across the Atlantic Ocean Solo.
Jasmine Harrison sailed into Nelson’s Dockyard on Sunday, completing the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Rowing Challenge, 3000 mile journey after 70 days, three hours and 48 minutes.
Ms Harrison, a part-time swimming teacher and bartender from Thirsk in North Yorkshire, decided to sign up for the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge three years ago after watching the finale of the 2017 event.
She took off with approximately 20 teams from La Gomera in the Canary Islands last December.
During her journey, Jasmine Harrison capsized two days before crossing the finishing line, injuring her elbow. But she persevered.
