The charitable organization established by Governor General Sir Rodney Williams and Lady Sandra Williams – Halo Foundation – is continuing to offer assistance to several groups in the country.
On Friday, Halo presented cheques to three such groups during a brief ceremony at Government House. The cheques represented funds raised by the Coalition of European Ambassadors, a group of Antigua and Barbuda’s representatives in various European capitals and which is coordinated by the High Commissioner in London, Karen-Mae Hill.
In this latest installment, cheques were presented jointly by Sir Rodney as well as by Foreign Affairs Minister, E.P. Chet Greene to the St Vincent De Paul Society, the Salvation Army’s Sunshine Home for Girls and the Ex-Service Men Association.
A spokesman for the Halo Foundation said the presentation is the latest donation to these groups from funds raised by the “You Can Help” campaign, which is a joint undertaking of the European ambassadors and consuls and the Halo Foundation. There have been two previous presentations under the initiative.
