Two years after their momentous arrival into Nelson’s Dockyard, Team Antigua Island Girls will be commemorating their historic row across the Atlantic Ocean with a week of virtual and public service events.
From today, Monday 25th January to Thursday 28th January, the history makers will be hosting daily social media giveaways on Instagram and Facebook.
Thursday 28th January will officially mark the two-year anniversary of their arrival and they have decided to mark this occasion by giving back. The girls will dedicate their day by volunteering at the Soup Kitchen.
On Friday 29th January, they will be on Jump 100.1 FM at 4 p.m. with DJ Riddim Master.
Saturday 30th January will be dedicated as mentor day. Four young people residing in Antigua between ages seven and twelve will have the opportunity to be a mentee to the Team Island Girls, all taking place at the beach.
Mentees will have a chance to spend some time with the Island Girls engaged in a beach, health, and fitness activities.
The week will culminate with a Virtual Sip & Chat event hosted online via Zoom. Tickets are available through Eventbrite and more information is available on the Team Antigua Island Girls Facebook page. Ticket holders in Antigua will receive a bottle of wine and some chocolates to enjoy while the Island Girls share some of their fondest memories about their journey.
