An employee at state owned ABS Television has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.
A leaked internal memo by the station’s general manager, Erna-Mae Brathwaite, revealed that the employee was assigned to an evening shift. As a result, the entire evening crew at ABS has been sent off duty.
Members of the news department who may have come into contact with the employee have also been asked to remain home. Employees unlikely to have been affected will be informed of their working hours going forward. The memo also noted that arrangements have been made for the ABS premises to be sanitized. The general manager expressed confidence that through ABS’ ongoing efforts, the management is confident that the risk to the general staff body is mitigated. Members of staff have been encouraged to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines as issued by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
