Tuesday 15th January, 2019-Calvin ‘Burger’ James appeared before a Magistrate this morning and was remanded to prison.
The accused murderer was dressed in all white and wore a pair of black pointed tip shoes when he stood before Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh. He is facing eight charges that include two counts of murder, attempted murder, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition and one count of larceny.
James, whose appearance in court today was not announced, was reportedly polite to the chief magistrate, even complimenting her on her hairstyle.
He allegedly shot and killed his niece Tahisa Thomas and his nephew’s girlfriend Sanchezca Charles on 5th October, 2018. His nephew was critically injured when he was allegedly shot in the face, but he recovered from the injuries he sustained.
Following the incident in October, Calvin ‘Burger’ James went into hiding, until he was caught in the early hours of Sunday morning, in an operation that was mounted by the Police in the Hermitage Bay area, based on information they had received, according to a statement.
He returns to court on April 11th, 2018, when Committal Proceedings are expected to begin.
