Tuesday 27th November, 2018-The aircraft that arrived today to airlift the education minister out of the country has been grounded as a result of mechanical problems.
Minister Michael Browne’s departure has now been delayed and it is not clear when he will be flown out for advance medical treatment.
The All Saints West MP who was admitted to hospital last evening as a result of complications with his heart was transported to the airport this afternoon via ambulance, from where he would have been medevacked to the Cayman Islands.
However, the trip was cancelled according to Chief of Staff in the Office of the Prime Minister, Ambassador Lionel ‘Max’ Hurst, in an update this afternoon.
Ambassador Hurst could not say whether the MP will be flown out later this evening or on Wednesday.
Last evening, attending doctors placed Minister Browne in the Intensive Care Unit as they worked on stabilizing him before giving the approval that he can be air lifted.
Ambassador Hurst related that the Mr. Browne is in good spirits.
