Vehicle Catches Fire in OPM Compound

Wednesday 21st November, 2018-A vehicle fire in the parking lot of the Office of the Prime Minister was quickly extinguished this afternoon by the St. John’s Fire Department.

The circumstances surrounding the blaze are unknown, but the Lincoln Navigator owned by Darilyn Burton was destroyed shortly before 2pm.

At the time of the incident, the vehicle was parked in the general parking lot of the Office of the Prime Minister. Reports are no other vehicles were damaged, but several palm trees that line the fence were burnt.

Cabinet was reportedly in session when the incident occurred, but there were no major interruptions and employees in the office of the prime minister were not required to evacuate the building.
