Wednesday 17th October, 2018-A signing ceremony will be held on Thursday between the governments of Antigua and Barbuda and the People’s Republic of China that will result in the Asian nation providing houses as gifts.
Details of the agreement are expected to be revealed during Thursday’s signing ceremony at the Office of the Prime Minister.
At 9:15 am, Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne and Chinese Ambassador H.E Wang Xianmin will append their signatures to a document that will concretize the agreement, which will make available 250 houses.
The news comes days before the Ark of Peace, the Chinese Navy’s hospital ship sails into Port St. John’s to provide medical assistance to approximately 2000 Antiguans and Barbudans.
Antigua and Barbuda and the People’s Republic of China have had strong bilateral ties, since establishing diplomatic relations in the 1980s.
