ABS Goes Digital

Monday 15th October, 2018-State Television ABS has gone digital, ending more than 50 years of analog transmission.

The switch took place at midnight on Monday and completes a process that began in 2016 with High Definition Technology.

Minister Melford Nicholas, who is responsible for Information and Broadcasting, said on state television on Sunday, the transition was inevitable and is keeping in line with the technological advances being made in radio and television broadcasting.

The upgrade according to Minister Nicholas will also include Barbuda in the second phase, where a satellite station is to be constructed.
