Friday 12th October, 2018-The Works Ministry is notifying road users that repair work on Darkwood Bridge, which partially collapsed on Thursday will begin this weekend.
As a result,there will be a two-day road closure to facilitate the process.
The Works Ministry’s Permanent Secretary is Clarence Pilgrim.
On Saturday and Sunday, the road will be closed from 8:00am to 6:00pm and motorists are being advised to utilize the bypass road when traveling in that vicinity.
Motorists travelling South, would take a left into Orange Valley which leads to the end of Darkwood Beach.
Motorists traveling North, would take a right at the beginning of Darkwood Beach and exit at Orange Valley.
Signs will also be placed in the area to assist motorists.
Permanent Secretary Clarence E. Pilgrim is urging motorists to be patient as the repairs are being conducted.
Pilgrim noted that the safety of motorists traveling in that vicinity is of utmost importance and the ministry apologizes for any inconvenience caused during the closure.
