Monday 10th September, 2018-With Barbados, Grenada, St. Lucia and St. Kitts and Nevis granted visa renewal waivers by the U.S Embassy in Barbados, the Antiguan head of government says he finds it strange that his country was not included.
The visa waiver means citizens and residents from the countries earlier mentioned will no longer have to travel to Bridgetown to renew their visas, they will be able to do so online.
But for the time being, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have not been included in the waiver.
Speaking on the Browne and Browne show at the weekend, the prime minister who acknowledged Antigua and Barbuda may be included, took issue with the decision, which he said officials at the Embassy stated was geared towards improving efficiency.
The prime minister stated that Antigua and Barbuda should not be deprived simply because the country chooses to support a particular government.
