Monday 10th September, 2018-The LIAT employee who was held after marijuana was discovered in a microwave at Deep Water Harbour was granted bail when he appeared in court on Monday morning.
Darren Leslie Dunnah of Cassada Gardens #4 was charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to transfer the class B drugs, importation and being concerned in the supply of drugs. He was also charged with making a false declaration to Customs.
The supervisor of flight operations at LIAT pleaded not guilty when he appeared before a magistrate. His attorney Dane Hamilton Jr. successfully petitioned the court for bail in the sum of $10,000, with a cash component of $ 5,000.
As part of his bail requirements, Dunnah must report every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday to Police Headquarters in addition to surrendering his travel document.
The court also required that two Antiguan sureties sign on his behalf before he is released from custody.
He returns to court on 15th November, when his trial is scheduled to begin.
The illegal substance was discovered during a routine search at Deep Water Harbour last Wednesday. It weighed two pounds, with an estimated street value of $8,000.
