Talks Between State Insurance and AT&LU Fall Through

Tuesday 4th September, 2018 –Several members of staff of state Insurance Corporation being represented by the Antigua Trades and Labour Union remained off the job for the second day today (Tuesday).

At issue is the alleged failure of the company to honour several agreements, one of which is salaries.

A continuation of Monday’s meeting with SIC’s management today (Tuesday), failed to materialize after management of the statutory body objected to an employee being included in the discussions.

This afternoon POINTE FM’s Nightly News spoke to AT&LU Industrial Relations Officer Ralph Potter on the breakdown in talks that were scheduled for today.
