Tuesday 12th June, 2018-A programme is to be rolled out shortly on how the Sargassum Seaweed can be managed.
The seaweed is a major headache for hoteliers on the island, as it inundates the beaches, preventing tourists from dipping in the otherwise pristine waters.
Government held discussions recently with the hoteliers to come up with a temporary fix as Minister Daryl Matthew explains.
The seaweed is reportedly affecting the eastern section of the island.
When it washes ashore and rots, a sulphuric odour emanates that is unbearable to anyone close by.
