Tuesday 29th May, 2018-Two men who were found guilty of murdering Clinton Mannix in 2009 were sentenced in the High Court today.
George Thomas received life in prison, while Joel Serahine was jailed for 25 years.
Mannix was shot dead after a cocaine deal went wrong. Three men, Joel Seraphine, Andre Nibbs and George Thomas took Mannix to a building in the city and questioned him about the cocaine before travelling with him to a secluded area in Yeptons.
While at Yeptons, Nibbs was instructed to shoot Mannix, but when he refused, the gun was taken from him and Mannix was shot and killed.
As the investigation began, Thomas, Seraphine and Nibbs were charged with murder. However, during trial Seraphine pleaded guilty to a lesser count, manslaughter and was sentenced to seven years in prison.
Joel Seraphine is out of prison, since the years he spent on remanded were discounted from his sentence.
