Piggotts Man to stand Trial for Murder

Friday 25th May, 2018 –The Piggotts man held for the disappearance of Vincia James will go on trial in the High Court when the September criminal assizes opens.

A magistrate informed Mikhail Gomes through his attorney Lawrence Daniel that he was satisfied that a prima facie case was made out for the Gomes to be tried in the High Court.

Gomes is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend Vincia James on April 7th of 2017.

She was allegedly seen that day leaving her workplace on Old Parham Road and has never been seen or heard from since.

Mikhail was subsequently taken into custody and was slapped with a murder charge following several rounds of interrogation.

More than a year after she disappeared investigators are nowhere close to solving the case.

The accused remains on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison.
