Tuesday 8th May, 2018 –The Antigua Trades and Labour Union president has criticized the Trade Union Congress for not acting as the umbrella body of all trade unions in the country when it decided to join the Workers’ Union at its headquarters on Monday for Labour Day Observances.
Wigley George was highly critical of the decision, which he noted was not taken in the best interest of employees.
Mr. George told an ABLP rally that where his union is concerned, despite the decades old relationship that exists with successive ABLP governments, its representation of workers will not be diluted.
The AT&LU president said there are several matters that require attention in the interest of employees, one being pension reform.
