Friday 27th April, 2018 –A city manager is to be appointed shortly as steps are being taken to improve the infrastructure in the interest of the country’s cruise tourism product.
Information Minister Melford Nicholas says government is aware of the complaints about the state of city, including the stench that emanates from some parts.
He told reporters steps have been taken to deal with the concerns being expressed.
The name of the city manager is being withheld until he/she is notified. Going forward, attention will be placed on the mix of businesses in St. John’s.
Attention will also be given to the restoration of several buildings, particularly those with historic value.
Government is assuring that over the next weeks and months, citizens and resident will witness a gradual improvement of conditions in St. John’s.
