Thursday 26th April, 2018 –The firm contracted by the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) to complete the accounting of monies received and spent in the post-hurricane recovery work in Barbuda has been given an additional two weeks to complete the preliminary report.
This after an interim report submitted to Cabinet was found to be unsatisfactory.
The accountant’s work according to Minister Melford Nicholas spanned the period September 2017 to January, 2018. But Cabinet declined to accept the report, insisting that the review be undertaken from September 2017 to April 2018.
The Cabinet spokesman stated there is no need for alarm, especially since it was not the final report.
