Tuesday 17th April, 2018 –An earthquake this afternoon shook the island causing some people to panic, while others took to social media to spread the news.
According to the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Unit, the quake occurred at 4:26 pm local time and was located at 16.95°N and 61.82°W with a magnitude of 4.4 and depth of 21km.
In addition to Antigua, the quake was also felt in Saint Kitts and Montserrat.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
The US Geological Survey says the quake measured 4.4 on the Richter Scale, with a depth of 21.6 km. The epicenter was reported 4.7-5km East South East of Parham.
