Wednesday 28th March, 2018 –Government’s Road Rehabilitation Programme continues with phase (1) – from V.C Bird International Airport to The Solar Energy Farm.
Work commenced today (Wednesday) and will be from Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 5:30pm | Saturday: 7:00am to 1:00pm
The work will reduced in deduced width Lanes: Sir George Walter Highway – Eastern side of the road between the Airport & the Solar Energy Farm (Flag people will institute a stop and go system) working along the edge of the westbound lane. Two-way traffic will be maintained.
The work will last approximately five weeks.
The eastern lane of the road will remain open. Passage north and southbound will be maintained throughout. Road users are urged to exercise extreme caution when traversing in the construction site. Warning signs will be visible for all road users who are being asked to proceed with caution for the duration of the road works. There will be workers in high visibility reflective gear at the road closure and flag people will be there to direct traffic. Local access will be maintained for road users who are residents and individuals conducting business at the business places within the closed lane.
No parking will be allowed along main roads or side roads in the area.
The Government of Antigua and Barbuda’s Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project which is a grant being provided by the United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Partnership Fund (UKCIF).
