Tuesday 13th March, 2018 – Antigua based airline LIAT is poised to re-enter the US Virgin Islands, more than a year after it dropped the territory from its network.
The airline said on Monday it will resume operations to and from St. Thomas on 2nd July, after stating that operational reasons were behind the pullout.
The airline will operate three flights weekly to St. Thomas, according to LIAT’s Corporate Communications Manager, Shavar Maloney.
While the return of LIAT to the Virgin Islands is welcomed news, St. Croix will not be included. The airline maintains the territory is not economically viable, the exact reason it gave when they pulled out in 2017.
