Friday 9th March, 2018 – Antiguans and Barbudans who use marijuana for recreational purposes can now have in their possession up to 15 grammes of the herb without being prosecuted.
The Misuse of Drug Amendment Bill 2018 became law earlier this week, when it was published in the official gazette, the final stage for a bill that makes its way through parliament.

In 2016, government signaled its intention to decriminalized small amounts of the drug.
Under the new law, persons will also be allowed to plant four marijuana plants on their property.
