Tuesday, 27th February, 2018 – Antigua Public Utilities Authority wants their customers in Gunthropes, the western section to know that they will continue to be without landline and Internet services until repairs are completed to damaged cables.

According to APUA, last Saturday a backhoe came in contact with underground cables which resulted in major damage, causing a disruption in both landline and inet services.

APUA anticipates that services will be restored in the coming days. No specific time was given.

The utilities company in a statement is assuring residents in the affected area that their technicians continue to work feverishly to rebuild the infrastructure in the shortest time possible.

APUA is also appealing to contractors to consult with the Authority before clearing lands or digging to mitigate the occurrence of such incidents.
