Tuesday 20th February, 2018 – Major upgrades have been announced for Antigua State College as government moves to transform the institution into one that will provide the highest level of tertiary education for Antiguans and Barbudans.
During a visit this morning to the College’s Golden Grove Campus to see firsthand the work being carried out on a new Resource Centre and Library, Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne told students and faculty members that government is focusing on directing a significant amount of resources towards the restoration of Antigua State College.
The prime minister says almost $ US 10 million have been earmarked for further expansion of the Five Islands campus. Some of those funds will be diverted to make accommodation available for students at Antigua State College as the country focuses on educational tourism.
Prime Minister Browne is projecting that planning will commence within a short period and will be headed by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).
