Monday, 19th February, 2018 – Classes resumed as normal on Monday at Princess Margaret School as investigations continue to determine the origin of Saturday’s fired that destroyed the principal’s office.
The fire department was summoned to the school on Saturday morning and may have prevented wide scale damage of the institution.
Education Officer, Secondary Schools, Jonah Greene reported there were no disruptions to classes, describing today (Monday) as normal for student learning at the secondary institution. Mrs. Greene is reporting that alternative arrangements are being made for the principal and the secretarial staff.
The Board of Education will spearhead the repair work after an assessment is conducted, even though a cost cannot be immediately placed on the damage done.
Mrs. Greene says students records were saved, but information on the school’s history and former educators was lost.
