Tuesday 30th January, 2018 –The Jamaican National who confessed to being the owner of a firearm and ammunition found in his home last weekend was fined when he appeared in court on Tuesday.
Shawn McIntosh was ordered to pay $ 10,000 forthwith or spend six months in jail.
He was ordered to pay $5000 for charges of possession of a .25 pistol and $ 5,000 for possession of five rounds of .25 ammunition.
Police say Shawn McIntosh was one of twelve persons detained, following a raid of a house in campsite, where a .25 pistol and five matching rounds of ammunition were discovered. The gun was concealed in a red and white sneaker in a bedroom. All twelve occupants of the house were taken into police custody.
While being questioned, McIntosh claimed ownership of the illegal items. It was also revealed that the Jamaican national is residing illegally in the country.
Friday’s raid in Campsite involved officers from the CID, Narcotics division and K.9 Unit.
