Some 150 persons are this week receiving specialized eye-care services at the Sir Lester bird Medical Centre.
SLBMC Marketing and Communications Manager, Salma Crump, said the patients benefit from the service through a partnership between the Ministry of Health, the Medical Benefits Scheme and the Trinidad Eye Hospital.
She explained that through this partnership patients receive cataract surgery and other eye-care services performed by visiting teams from the Trinidad Eye Hospital at regular interval.
“SLBMC is proud to support approximately 150 members of our community scheduled for cataract surgery and other procedures. Together with our dedicated team, along with partners Trinidad Eye Hospital, we’re helping restore sight and our community, one person at a time,” Crump stated.
The surgeries are being done at the SLBMC throughout this week.
